Ellie Mae's Jonathan Corr Listed Among 2007 IT All-Stars

By leading the development of Encompass®, Corr transformed the industry standard for loan origination systems and helped effectuate ePASS' widespread utilization

Dublin, CA—March 20, 2007—Ellie Mae, an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has announced that chief strategy officer Jonathan Corr has been listed among Mortgage Banking magazine's 2007 IT All-Stars. Each year, a handful of individuals are selected for the IT All-Stars list, representing those who have made the most significant contributions to the field of mortgage technology.

When Corr joined Ellie Mae in 2002, he was charged with leading the development of a new desktop solution that would ultimately become Ellie Mae's flagship product, the Encompass® mortgage automation system. At the time, Ellie Mae loan originations systems had 20 percent market share. Ellie Mae's goal was to expand to reach majority share of the market, and at the same time drive business to the ePASS® Network, the company's online transaction platform. By 2006, Corr's work had paid off handsomely. Today, half of the country's loans are originated using Ellie Mae's software, and nearly one third of the nation's $3 trillion in loans are transmitted through the ePASS Network linking originators to their wholesale lenders and settlement service providers.

"We're very proud of both Jonathan's contributions and the recognition he has received with this award," states Sig Anderman, Ellie Mae's CEO. "He is a true leader whose contributions have not only helped us to achieve our goals, but also benefited the customer and transformed the industry as well."

In 2003, Corr began with a vision to create much more than a standard loan origination system. This solution, according to Corr's vision, would break past the status quo by offering different interfaces for the varying roles within the company, being easy to use and expandable, and utilizing an extensible infrastructure for both small and larger companies. Finally, it would also offer support that would include web-based, PDA and wireless solutions. What resulted from Corr's vision was the six-version Encompass family of solutions—an easy to use, expandable system with varying interfaces, an extensible infrastructure, and web-based access--that is currently deployed by over 15,000 companies and used by over 135,000 users.

In 2006, Ellie Mae launched three niche versions of the award-winning Encompass mortgage automation system: a professional edition that makes marketing and management easier than ever before, a custom edition for larger companies that need higher adaptability to fit solutions into their companies' existing processes, and a banker edition, a tailor-made solution for bankers and brokers becoming bankers that has already secured 12 new customers since its launch in October 2006.

"It's such an honor to receive this award," states Corr. "My career has been focused on creating products that far surpass the status quo. I initially came to Ellie Mae because of their passion and goals for changing the mortgage industry. It's been such a privilege to see that goal becoming a reality and to be recognized on an industry level for the work that Ellie Mae has enabled me to do."
