Ellie Mae Announces Launch of Encompass® Banker Edition

New version of Encompass is a comprehensive front- to back-end solution for mortgage bankers, correspondent lenders, community bankers and credit unions

Dublin, CA—October 23, 2006—Ellie Mae, an award-winning provider of innovative software and services for the mortgage industry, has announced the launch of Encompass Banker Edition, the version of its acclaimed Encompass Mortgage Automation System designed specifically for mortgage bankers. Encompass Banker Edition is a complete end-to-end business solution that incorporates both front-end customer relationship management and loan processing capabilities along with the back-end loan fulfillment functionalities required by today's small- to mid-size correspondent mortgage lenders, mortgage bankers, community bankers and credit unions.

Ellie Mae has already proven its ability to quickly grow the customer base of its new products. Launched only three years ago, Encompass is currently being used by seven of the top 10 brokerages and over half of the top 250 brokers nationwide, several of which operate as bankers and provided input in the design of Encompass Banker Edition. According to a study conducted by Broker magazine earlier this year, Encompass is estimated to have already achieved 25 percent market share after only three years of existence. "Based on the numerous requests for the development of this product and the overwhelming popularity of Encompass, we're expecting a very positive response as we have with the other versions of Encompass."

Encompass Banker Edition is a comprehensive business solution that leverages the existing customer relationship management, loan origination, loan processing, electronic document management, business intelligence, and integrated settlement services network capabilities of Encompass. To meet the back-end needs of mortgage bankers and lenders, Encompass Banker Edition includes a fully integrated loan fulfillment solution including underwriting, closing, funding, secondary marketing, and shipping. By design, the software aggregates all data in a single, centralized database to provide users a complete, uniform, and accurate view of the business at all times.

The solution is highly flexible and can be customized to meet the varying needs of customers. The customizable workflow and business rules engine empowers companies to customize the solution to adapt to the company's business processes. In addition, Encompass Banker Edition enables companies to create custom user screens, user groups and personas.

Encompass Banker Edition also features a Software Development Kit that enables companies to integrate Encompass with other systems such as pricing, hedging, servicing or accounting systems.

As part of Ellie Mae's early adopter program, 10 companies will have purchased and been using Encompass Banker Edition when the product becomes available in November. "We have a strong cross-section of our target market represented in our early adopter program," states Corr. "Some are our Encompass, Genesis 2000, and Contour customers that have been using other back-end solutions that they aren't completely happy with, and some are new customers who have never used our products at all.
