Protect your business: Ransomware attacks on the rise
Since Ransomware threats continue to increase exponentially, it's good to know ways you can protect yourself. Ransomware starts out like phishing, with an email that includes a virus-enabled attachment or link. Once clicked on the virus overtakes the content of a computer and holds it "captive." At this point, victims receive a message demanding they pay a ransom for decryption key for file access.
Of more concern, Ransomware can be hidden through Web sites, which makes it a dangerous threat in the workplace. As always, be cautious about each and every link or attachment before you click. Read the recent FBI Ransomware posting for more information, including tips for effectively dealing with the threat.
